Feeling a bit flat today - tired and out of inspiration. I kept our wild activity simple - something we could do in the garden with very little fuss.
I suggested we draw an ant trail. The plan was to capture an ant, place it on a large piece of paper, and draw a line that followed its path.
Capturing an ant is harder than it sounds! Most of the ants we saw were tiny, and very very fast. Betsy and I tried and failed to persuade any to go onto a leaf.
I spotted a couple of woodlice and they were much more accommodating.
Betsy and Meg really enjoyed following them.
In the end an ant wandered onto the paper, Meg drew the trail and Betsy labelled it.
In other news, Betsy Meg and I went to the pet shop for Rosie-related stuff. We checked out the rabbits, guinea pigs, degus, chinchillas, rats, hamsters, fish, bearded dragons and snakes.
Here is cheeky Rosie, with some of my yarn she ran off with!
Fred made it onto the scoreboard in the PS3 game he was playing.
Rob harvested all these onions at the weekend - I won't need to buy any for ages!
Hoping for more energy tomorrow...
Over the years I've realised it's better to embrace low energy days! It's easy to pile on the guilt but spending all your time with young children can be tiring.
