Wrapping up March

Betsy learned to ride her bike last weekend.  She's been riding it most days ever since!  She's so happy.  We went to Moss's house last Monday and took bikes and scooters, and went to the skate park

.Moss had a couple of skateboards with him, and the kids took it in turns to ride down the slopes.

Meg and Betsy spent some time at the playground too, before the cold wind sent us back to the house.

We had a quiet day at home on Tuesday.  On Wednesday it was forest school, the last in the block of sessions.  Fred said he doesn't want to go back after Easter.  Betsy wants to continue.  I'll consider the logistics.  It would be pretty straightforward if she were happy to stay without me, but I don't think she is.

 Dead mans ears.

Vegetable soup cooked over the fire.

With another glass find from the Victorian rubbish dump.

In Betsy's den that we made.

Raaahh!

Nesting cuddly toys.

On Friday we met up with Caden and Miles in Milton Keynes.  We started at a home ed group based in the community room at the gallery.  There were some mothers day arts and crafts to do.  Fred wasn't interested but luckily his friend Matthew was there with the Deadly 60 card game.

Afterwards we walked to McDonalds, past some cool public art.  I loved the mini Stonehenge in particular.

After McDonalds we went to the snow dome.  There's a little playframe there, and you can watch the skiers and snowboarders.

We finished off by going to the indoor skydiving viewing room.  It's brilliant!  The huge fan blows air at around 100 mph.  Fred wants to have go - I suggested it could be one of his birthday presents.

We had a lovely weekend.  Mum, Chris, Tom and nan came for lunch yesterday (Mother's Day) and Rob cooked a delicious lasange.  Fred and Tom played minecraft on the playstation, and all 3 kids sat at the table and had lunch with us.  It was so nice.

This morning we went to Zoomania.  Fred and I watched some Slow Mo Guys on youtube (hooray for free wifi), and he played with Betsy and Meg for a while too.

Later we played the Game of Life.  Mum's been having a clear out and brought it over yesterday.  I used to love playing it, and it was excellent playing it again today!
